About Emilie Trudeau

Licensed Professional Counselor

Founder of Luz Psychotherapy Services

I became a therapist because I believe everyone deserves a space where they can be fully honest - about what hurts, what scares them, and what they hope for. For me, therapy is about more than symptoms or diagnoses; it's about really seeing someone. That belief is what drove me to this work, and it's what I care about most with every client I sit with.

My clinical focus is on helping people navigating eating disorders, trauma, and the kind of life experiences that don't fit neatly into a single session. I've worked with clients across many levels of care, from residential treatment to outpatient settings, and I'm here for you whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, self-harm, bullying, or domestic violence - wherever you are, however messy it feels.

At the heart of it, I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can exhale. Where you're not managing anyone else's expectations, just figuring out your own.

Outside the therapy room, you'll find me with my family and friends (my dog Hollie included), lost in a good book, exploring somewhere new, out on a trail, or deep into a video game.

I'm a bilingual therapist offering sessions in both English and Spanish. I'm licensed in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, with virtual licensure in Florida.
